Taxe

Owners, do not forget to declare your property

Few people know it, but the owners of real estate have until June 30 to declare to the Taxes in what capacity they occupy them (as a main residence, secondary residence, etc.). If the property is rented, they must inform the tax authorities of the identity of the tenants, the amount of the rent and the type of rental (bare, furnished, seasonal). This mandatory declaration can be made online on the Impots.gouv.fr website from the "private space", then by clicking on the "real estate" tab. It will allow the Tax Department to identify the properties subject to the housing tax, still in force for second homes, or to the tax on vacant housing if the housing is unoccupied. In total, 34 million owners or holders of real rights are concerned by this declaration, for 73 million premises. In the event of non-declaration, error or omission, an owner risks a fine of €150 per premises.
