Accumulate MaPrimeRénov’ and the eco-PTZ becomes simpler

A new system has made it possible, since November 17, to reduce the final bill for energy renovation work, by combining the aid from "MaPrimeRénov'" and the eco-PTZ, a zero-rate loan. Energy renovation is a major challenge for the quality of the French housing stock in the years to come. Several measures have been put in place to help individuals carry out this type of work in their homes. Because the bill can sometimes be high depending on the equipment and materials to be renewed. Despite the aid already in force, the remaining charge can still be complicated to finance for some households. To facilitate their procedures, the government has announced a novelty: the possibility of requesting a zero-rate eco-loan (eco-PTZ) from its bank, coupled with MaPrimeRénov’.

A loan of up to €30,000 "My eco-PTZ Prime Rénov'" thus makes it possible to release a maximum amount of €30,000 to finance the remainder of the energy renovation work eligible for MaPrimeRénov' aid. It is interest-free to repay, with no application fees to pay and awarded without means testing. Its repayment term can be up to 15 years. Households wishing to benefit from this loan must apply for it no later than six months after the start of the work.

A simplified approach Until now, the financing of the rest to be paid was not so fluid. The owner of a dwelling had to provide the list of work to be carried out, with the forms signed by the companies which were going to carry out the work, supporting invoices and estimates checked by the National Housing Agency (Anah) in order to get a grant. Now, owners or lessors contact Anah to find out if they are eligible for aid dedicated to energy renovation. If they obtain an agreement in principle from him, they can then go to their bank to request an eco-PTZ Prime Rénov’. The bank then establishes a complete financing plan, taking into account potential subsidies, in order to estimate the remaining charge to be financed. The subscription of this loan is analyzed according to the repayment capacities of the applicant.

Contracted banks Only banks that have signed an agreement with the State are currently able to issue this eco-PTZ. These are Banques Populaires and Caisses d'Epargne. Crédit Mutuel, Crédit Agricole and La Banque Postale should also offer it by the end of the first quarter of 2023.

MaPrimeRénov’, the main state aid A system dedicated to energy renovation, MaPrimeRénov’ allows all owner-occupiers and landlords to benefit from aid to undertake energy performance improvement work in their homes. And this, without conditions of resources. The amounts granted, however, depend on household income and the type of work carried out.
