More towns eligible for Pinel and PTZ schemes
Under a decree published in the Journal officiel on 3 October 2023, more than 200 municipalities in France have been reclassified under the A, B or C zoning, which measures the level of property pressure in towns and cities. In all, 154 communes have been moved to the "zone tendue" (A or B1), where there is a significant imbalance between housing supply and demand, from the previous B2 or C zones. In Savoie, this is the case for Bourg-Saint-Maurice, La Plagne and Les Belleville, which have been moved from the relaxed C zone to the B1 zone. The aim is to facilitate the development of home ownership and intermediary rental housing for 4.5 million inhabitants, and to support the production of new housing. The A, B or C classification determines a number of schemes to which buyers and tenants are entitled, depending on where they live. The Pinel scheme is only available in towns and cities with a high housing demand. This will be the case for the zero rate loan (PTZ) in its 2024 version, which will exclude zones B2 and C.
