The new PTZ has arrived
The 2024 version of the zero-rate loan (PTZ) has officially come into force, following the publication of a decree in the Journal Officiel on April 2, 2024, for all loans issued from April 1, 2024. Extended until 2027, the scheme has been refocused on the purchase of new multi-family homes in prime areas, or older homes with work (subject to conditions) in low-income areas. To make this interest-free loan accessible to a wider public, as it is means-tested, the income thresholds have been increased by between +7% and +30%. And a fourth bracket has been created, between €37,000 and €49,000 in annual income, for households that were previously ineligible. What's more, the most modest borrowers can now finance up to 50% of their property project (compared with 40% at present) with the PTZ, corresponding to assistance per household of up to €10,000.
