Will they have to be renovated to rent them?
Housing classified F or G under the energy performance diagnosis (DPE), i.e. the most energy-intensive, will soon no longer be able to be rented out if they are not renovated. A measure taken within the framework of the Climate & Resilience law. The risk: that these accommodations leave the rental market, already in short supply, to be placed on the seasonal rental market. A bill wishes to extend this regulation to furnished tourist accommodation and vacation rentals considered as thermal sieves. Thus, these properties could no longer be rented, and a DPE should be provided with the seasonal rental contract. In October 2022, the Minister Delegate for Cities and Housing, Olivier Klein, declared on BFM Business that he also wanted the same rules. No date has yet been set for the examination of the bill, but it could be included in the next finance bill.
