Home insurance

Am I covered in the event of prolonged absence ?

In the event of water damage, for example, which is not quickly brought under control, comprehensive home insurance (MRH) may not cover the loss if the owner of the property is away from home for a long period. This is because the "uninhabited" clause, which is included in most contracts, specifies the length of time that a property may remain uninhabited without this affecting compensation for the damage suffered. Depending on the type of insurance, this period of absence can range from 30 to 90 consecutive days per year. You can change or extend this period (without incurring an additional premium) by applying to your insurance company.
