The importance of the rental file

Looking to rent a property? Because of the rental tension that reigns in most cities, it's best to prepare, before starting any visit, a solid and complete rental file to avoid your application being turned down by landlords. Your file must contain all the documents a landlord is entitled to ask for (defined in a decree dated November 5, 2015, consolidated in July 2019): your ID, proof of your employment status, the amount of your income and proof of address less than three months old. However, a landlord cannot ask you for bank statements, for example. Once you've visited the property, hand over your file in hard copy, and make sure you have a digital version available.
